NEW: Tracking Cookie Detection

With the latest update, the a-squared scanner now detects Tracking Cookies. Cookies are small information files which can be stored on your local computer by your browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc.) at the request of websites you have visited. This technology is used to recognize you if you visit the same website later. Ad companies use this to see which websites you are visiting, so ads can be placed specific to your browsing habits. Although cookies are not diretly dangerous to the security of your computer, they can intrude on your privacy. This is why a-squared detects and removes them too.

a-squared Free users should use the built in online update feature at regular intervals to update the software to the latest version.
a-squared Personal users with activated auto-update feature already have the updated scanner installed.
