New Hosts file monitoring provides more security against Phishing

After our last a-squared newsletter with the publication of the a-squared HiJackFree manual we have received many queries about the Hosts file. Since this file can represent a significant potential for danger, we have decided to integrate a Hosts file monitoring system into a-squared Anti-Malware. As soon as the contents of the Hosts file are changed, you receive a warning message and can reject the changes if desired.

New a-squared Version 2.1

A number of things have changed since the release of a-squared Anti-Malware 2.0 last July. The a-squared Guard now also monitors Cookies and allows Tracking Cookies to be generally rejected. The anti-dialer heuristics, newly developed for a-squared Anti-Dialer 2.0, have now also been integrated into Anti-Malware. Over the last few weeks, the speed of the Memory, Cookie, and Traces scans have been further significantly increased, and monitoring of the Hosts file has also been integrated. This has led to the release of the new version 2.1.

a-squared Anti-Malware 2.1 is free for all customers having a valid license, and is available via the online update or as a separate download from the a-squared Homepage:
