Warning! Worm.Win32.Bagle.AS and JPEG Exploit!

Worm.Win32.Bagle.AS is yet another variant in the Bagle worm family. Like it's predecessors, this worm is distributed via email and file sharing. The attachment is 18,774 bytes and the subject of the email can be: "Re: Hello", "Re: Thank you!", "Re: Thanks :)" or "Re: Hi". The attachment name is one of "Price.exe", "Price.scr", "Price.com", "Price.cpl", "Joke.exe", "Joke.scr", Joke.cpl" or "Joke.com".

Further information about Bagle.AS can be found in the a² Malware Knowledge Base:

In addition to the new Bagle variant, we would like to advise you of another threat to your system from the internet. There is a flaw in the way JPEG images are handled by Windows and Microsoft Office. Your system can be compromised using this exploit either from email or from a webpage. Microsoft have released a security update which is available from http://www.windowsupdate.com

We strongly recommend that you install this update immediately. Further details of the security flaw can be found here http://www.microsoft.com/security/bulletins/200409_jpeg.mspx

Due to the nature of the JPEG exploit, requires the Windows Update to keep your system secure against Worm.Win32.Bagle.AS and the JPEG exploit.
