Critical security flaw in WMF
The new year gives us a new security flaw in Windows. Because of an error in the display module for WMF images, embedded harmful code can be executed. Even viewing the preview of a WMF camouflaged as a JPG image can install a backdoor on your PC. The a-squared scanner detects these manipulated files as Exploit.Win32.WMF.
The explosive fact: Microsoft hasn't provided an official patch so far to close this flaw, and all Windows versions are affected by this problem! WMF exploits also work with limited rights user accounts.
