Mamutu: The end of an era
With a heavy heart, we have decided to withdraw Emsisoft Mamutu and dedicate these additional resources to constantly improving our award-winner, Emsisoft Anti-Malware.
Emsisoft Mamutu will no longer be developed as an individual product and will cease to be available for sale. Its official successor is Emsisoft Anti-Malware, which offers Emsisoft Mamutu's behavior blocker module in addition to further important complementary protection features. Naturally, you can exchange your Emsisoft Mamutu license for an Emsisoft Anti-Malware license of the same remaining license period in the months to come.
Please note: We will ensure updates of the malware detection routines for existing Emsisoft Mamutu installations until December 31st, 2013 only. After this date, you will need Emsisoft Anti-Malware.

Important questions and answers concerning migration
How can I migrate from Mamutu without leaving my PC unprotected?
In 4 quick steps:
- Request your new license key for Emsisoft Anti-Malware from our support team. This license needs to be activated within the next two months and has the same remaining license period as your existing Mamutu license.
- Download the current version of Emsisoft Anti-Malware from www.emsisoft.com.
- Please await the arrival of your new licence before uninstalling Emsisoft Mamutu (the concurrent operation of both applications is not possible)
- Install Emsisoft Anti-Malware and follow the instructions to complete the activation of your product.
If you have any questions or problems, please contact our support team:
Can I also use Emsisoft Anti-Malware as a behavior blocker only?
It is possible to configure Emsisoft Anti-Malware with a few clicks to disable the File Guard and Surf Protection. Both programs would thus behave in almost the same way. However, in order to ensure the best real-time protection possible, we advise against doing so.
I am using Emsisoft Mamutu with an anti-virus solution from another provider. Does Emsisoft Anti-Malware replace both?
Emsisoft Anti-Malware is designed as all-round protection, hence you do not require conventional anti-virus software as well. Please read more about the built-in dual engine and the security benefits of three layered real-time protection in our knowledgebase. Seize the unique opportunity to migrate to this premium product without any further cost now.
Why are you no longer developing Emsisoft Mamutu? I think this product is awesome.
Emsisoft Mamutu was created in 2007 as an outsourced core competence of Emsisoft Anti-Malware's behavior blocker technology. During a time when "behavior blocking" was still rather uncharted territory, Emsisoft Mamutu presented itself - with its small installation file and minimal impact on a system's performance - as an ideal complementary solution to all available classical anti-virus products.
Although our technology is without a doubt among the most sophisticated and secure of its kind on a global level, demand for an individual behavior blocker product has been decreasing. For a long time, Emsisoft Mamutu has often offered better protection than many conventional anti-virus products despite using few resources. Users have been increasingly longing for a complementary tool to the existing Emsisoft Mamutu solution.
This is why we have decided with a heavy heart to cease development of Emsisoft Mamutu and dedicate these resources to developing our current award-winner. Our behavior blocker technology as a core component of Emsisoft Anti-Malware, will continue to be constantly developed and improved in the future.
