The June 2026 VB100 evaluation saw Emsisoft Anti-Malware achieve a 99.29% detection rate while maintaining a perfect 0.000% false positive rate. The product successfully passed certification with a Grade A rating, continuing its unbroken record of VB100 compliance.
The test, conducted on June 2, 2026, used VB100 methodology version 1.7 on a Windows 11 Pro platform. Emsisoft Anti-Malware (version 2026.1.0.12700) was evaluated against recent malware samples and legitimate files.
Understanding the VB100 Certification Standard
The VB100 certification, administered by Virus Bulletin since 1998, measures two fundamental capabilities of security products: accurate malware detection and minimal false alarms.
Products must meet two criteria to pass:
- Detect at least 75% of malware in the certification set
- Generate false alarms on no more than 0.05% of clean files
Performance above the pass mark receives a grade from A+ (99.5% or higher) to D (75-84%). Emsisoft’s Grade A requires a minimum 97% detection rate. The entire process follows the AMTSO Standard. This guarantees methodological transparency and reproducibility.
