Manage multiple Protection Policies with Policy Templates

Protection Policies allow you to specify how the protection behaves in specific scenarios and can be customized further per device – but note that for larger workspaces it would be time consuming to edit the policies for every device.
The Policy Templates simplify the management of the protection settings, letting you design a set of protection policies that you can assign to specific Policy Groups for the Workspaces of your choice.
This means that, once you have designed your policies in a template, you can assign them to new Workspaces with just a couple of clicks.

How to create Policy Templates

Personal Policy Templates
Open my.emsisoft.com and click on your name in the upper right corner and on: My account

Then scroll down to: Personal Policy Template and click on: Edit templates

You can create your own templates. The root template always has the name of the user. Select who can use them and do the desired changes:

You can then assign the desired template in the protection policies. Open the group you want to assign the template to:

Partner Policy Templates:
This is specific for Emsisoft Partners/Resellers.
Click on: Policy templates in the Partner section in the top left:

You can create your own templates.
Create a: New template or choose an existing one
The root template always has the name of the the PartnerID.

You can then assign the desired template in the Protection Policies. Open the Workspace and then the Protection Policies. The select the Policy Group you want to assign the template to and click on: Select template on the right. It’s best to always select the root group, which always has the name of the workspace.

Further group or device specific settings/changes can be then made on subgroup levels if needed.
