My Emsisoft license has expired. How can I extend my license?
If you have bought a one-use coupon license from one of our resellers and you want to stay protected after its expiration, you can rely on several options and extend your protection further.
Our recommendation is to start a subscription, so you can minimize the risk of lapses in your coverage
Renewal prior to license expiry
- Access your MyEmsisoft account here. Click on the name of the workspace you want to renew and then click on “Settings” on the left side of the screen to find your renewal options, via the button “Renew now”.
This will create a subscription can you can manage in the same setting page. - If you have received a license key, you can renew directly on our renewal page. Simply type your license key (including dashes) and click on “Show renewal options”. Licenses can be renewed only if less than 6 months are left to their expiration date. This will also create a subscription for you.
Renewal after license expiration
If your license has already expired, the anti-malware programs switches automatically to a freeware version, which will allow you to perform scans, but will not provide you any sort of real-time protection.
You can still use the options above to renew the license, but you may need to repeat the installation process if the updates are not applied automatically after the renewal.
Exceptions
The Emsisoft Remediation Kit, the Commandline Scanner and the Emsisoft Mobile Security services are subscription based, hence renewal is performed automatically.
If you cancel the subscription and the service expires, then you are required to purchase a new subscription and repeat the activation process.
